How to Give a Woman a Compliment

How to Compliment a Woman

Your compliment should be genuine. Try to make her feel that she impressed you so much you had to meet her.

Examples:

  • "Excuse me, but I had to tell you. You've got style. You've got class. No! Really, I mean it. I'm quite sincere."
  • "Excuse me but I'd like to ask you a question." (pause) "Do other girls give you a hard time? I mean, they must be jealous. You're so much prettier than most other girls."
  • "Excuse me for saying this but you must be the prettiest girl in this whole town. I'll bet everyone tells you that."
  • "Excuse me, but I find you so attractive I just had to meet you."
  • "Hi! You know I've seen you around for a while and I've been admiring you. You really are something. I've finally gotten up courage to tell you."
  • "Hi! I like you. You're pretty." (Said jokingly).
  • "Hello! Do you want to know what I think? You're a ten. Definitely a ten."
  • "I hope you don't mind my saying this, but I think you must be one of those classic beauties people are always talking about."
Instead of "classic beauties" you can substitute any suitable complimentary expression. Typical examples are: Beauty queens, Southern belles, beach beauties, raven-haired beauties, goddesses of beauty, pocket Venuses, Southern peaches, visions of loveliness, blonde bombshells, gorgeous creatures, living dolls, prairie wildflowers, or (name of a state) wildflowers. This is obviously not a complete list. There are many other suitable complimentary expressions from which you can choose. This type of compliment should be given in a half joking fashion.

Often a girl will respond to your approach by ridiculing your compliment. Her reason for doing this may be that she feels the compliment is not sincere. You can either persevere by insisting, "No, I mean it. I'm perfectly sincere," or you can back off a little and agree that you might have been exaggerating a little. In either case you should not be too deadly serious about the compliment. You should smile and hang loose about the whole thing. so that she never really knows for sure if you meant it. Then you should be ready to push on with other tactics. Don't give up just because your compliment didn't go over too well.
