Directly Approaching a Woman to Meet Her

How to Directly Approach a Woman

In a direct approach you can go right up and ask for a girl's company or ask to know more about her. No apologies. No tricks. Some eye contact first is a help. But if you can't get it, don't worry. Make your move anyway.

Examples:

  • "Hi, how about a date?"
  • "Hello!" (Pause, then thoughtfully) "You know you interest me. How about a date sometime?" (You can always advance the "sometime" to a more immediate time if she responds.)
  • "Hi, would you like to come and have a drink?" (This is a direct approach if it is made in a place other than at a bar or party.)
  • "Say! What's your name?"
Since these approaches are somewhat pushy, the girl may tend to balk a little. Be ready to follow-up with some coaxing. You may also need to give your name fairly quickly to reassure her, e.g., "By the way, my name is..."

If it looks like the girl is put off by your strong approach, you may want to back off and apologize for "coming on so strong. " Then, if you are still holding the conversation you can work on another approach.
